Their uniform of activity trousers and teal green shirt reflects their adventurous lifestyle.

Each scout troop consists of small groups of 6/8 young people (usually called patrols) one of whom is the patrol leader. The patrol leader shares responsibility with the adults in the section to maintain standards and training within the troop. All scouts are encouraged to take part in the decision making process and regular forums allow them to help in planning troop activities.

Outdoor activity feature prominently in the scout troop with many activities being in preparation for future camps – held in both summer and winter – such as map reading, compass work and camping skills.

Badge work is also completed during the time that young people spend in the troop from which they learn self-reliance and self- discipline.
